That does not fit at all.
The 1989-1993 rear axle is totally different than the later 1994-2005 axle.
The housing on the first model is much smaller as is the VLSD and the 4,3 ring and pinion.
If you want to shorten your Final Gear Ratio on you Torsen equiped 1.8 Mx5 you need to source one of the following
-4,3 R&P from JDM RS model (like the one I have in my car)
-4,4 R&P from Mazda B2500
-4,6 R&P from Kia Sportage front
-4,8 R&P from Kia (or aftermarket)
You will also need a matching gearbox Speedo Gear, or else the speedo will read wrong km/h
