Citazione:Most aftermarket lips are made of either Polyurethance (PU), polypropylene(PP) or Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS)
Pure polyurethane(PU) has the characteristic of rubber, yet lighter and retain their shapes better. These are the lips that you can run over with your tires and will literally "bounce back" in to its original shape. However they cost more than the other two material and do not work well with painted applications, with their flexibility paint finish often over stress and crack/flake off.
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) hold their shapes perfectly over time, are cheap to buy and work well with paint as they have minimal flexibility; but they are also the ones that will chip/crack off upon impact / when scraped on the drive way.
Polypropylene(PP) falls between the two and has become the material of choice for bumpers by manufacturers, as well as the OE lip made by Mazda. It hold their shape well, has the right amount of flexibility to withstand impact without stressing the finish.
