Buonasera tutti, I'm based in Reading UK but have joined your forum as my wife and I visit Italy once or twice a year.
(My apologies for writing in English, although I speak some Italian my written Italian is not strong and I don't trust Google's translations!)
Italy is our favourite destination so much so that our adult children tell us there are other places to visit.
We always answer that there may be but we are so comfortable visiting la Bella it feels like home.
That's probably because years ago we lived and worked in Milan.
I run a 1991 Eunos 1.6 and was lucky enough to purchase it two years ago from only the third UK owner.
It was imported to the UK by Moss Europe. In fact if you have a Moss catalogue showing a red Mk1 that's the same car.
Moss imported it as a show vehicle to demonstrate their products.
They fitted it with a body kit and other accessories.
Their main interest however was using it to develop their supercharger kit.
Moss and the previous owner developed it so that it now reliably produces 161 BHP at the wheels.
Adding frame rails, suspension braces, Torsen diff and most recently the latest Meister R coil-overs means it handles better than any other car I've driven (and I've driven quite a few!).
We tour mainly Northern Italy coming over the mountains from France which gives the opportunity to really explore the cars capabilities.
Our favourite destination is around la Spezia as this allows some exciting driving in the mountains, particularly behind Carrara.
We have been to Autodromo R. Paletti a few times but the best event was last year when we followed the GP Nuvolari from Mantua to Imola on the first afternoon.
I'll try to attach a picture of an Italian registered MX5 we parked next to in Iper Coop, Sarzana last year - anyone on here?
We are thinking about a trip in May as we would like to attend the MotoGP in Mugello.
If that's not possible then almost certainly we'll be over in September.
Ciao and safe driving, Pewe.
