THey're talking about the plenum under the windshield, but BEHIND the firewall. This is a high pressure area because of the cross sectional area of the cockpit running into the slip stream. The air piles up ahead of it and increases in pressure. This high pressure area pushes into the plenum and provides the fan system with outside air for the cockpit. The area behind the radiator and under the hood IN FRONT of the fire wall should be lower pressure, drawing air freely through the radiator, over and around the engine (and especially exhaust manifold) and then down and out of the engine bay. The front of the car is also high pressure from the cross section...The stock NB design draws air from this region via the mouth to fender wells and holes below the headlight. The snorkel points right into this flow. I used a larger flex pipe than the snorkel. This changed the sound of the intake note, freed up some throttle response and to me, sounds very nice. It's way better then sluggish stock wail. I also tested a chromed smooth plastic pipe. Mute and a 90' bend with corner inside. Stupid bondo job. A little trumpet sound and not just "bell" from your intake is highly rewarding.
Sicuramente la posizione frontale tipo LAI e' imbattibile, ma per noi NB
